About this task
This food producer in bakery products (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Payable Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Prepares payment batches and sends remittances.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It produces and sells food and drink, with seasonal peaks and strict labelling rules.
The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Nova Scotia, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (AT).
What you deliver
- Prepare Friday's payment run, check bank details against the vendor file and send remittance advice.
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
What a week looks like
- Thursday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
- Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
- Friday: update sent before the company's end of day
Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
