About this task

This retail chain with 40 stores (1,001–5,000 employees) is looking for a manager Marketing Manager for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–8 h a week. Keeps campaigns, agencies and freelancers moving and the weekly numbers visible.

Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is a retailer with stores and an online channel, and the team works to a weekly trading rhythm.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Illinois, so this one is for residents there. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there.

What you deliver

• Run the weekly marketing meeting, review pipeline and spend, unblock two freelancers and send a one-page update every Friday.
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
• A written update every Tuesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

What a week looks like

• Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
• Monday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
• Tuesday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread

Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
