About this task

This online travel company in tours and activities (51–200 employees) is looking for a specialist Accounts Payable Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–10 h a week. Enters invoices, matches them to purchase orders and routes them for approval.

The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It works in travel and hospitality, where demand is seasonal.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Northwest Territories, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (MT).

What you deliver

• Process the week's 75 vendor invoices with two-way matching and chase approvers for the 6 oldest.
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

• Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
• Monday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
• Friday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread

Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in CAD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
