About this task
This Series A expense management software company for nonprofits (51–200 employees) is looking for a specialist Brand Copy Editor for a monthly bundle of recurring tasks, 8–20 h a month. Rewrites catalogue or UI text for consistency.
The same kind of work comes back every month, so the company prefers one person with an hours cap over ad-hoc requests. It operates in regulated payments and lending, so a written trail for every decision matters.
The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Maryland, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Standardise 500 product descriptions to a template and tone.
- A named list of items moved to next month, so nothing is lost
- A month-end summary with hours used against the cap
- The monthly list of items completed, each with a link to the result
What a month looks like
- Start of month: the company shares the items and the priorities
- Mid-month: progress check of 15 minutes
- Month end: hours used against the cap, results and open items
Duration: 8 weeks, with a monthly hours cap. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
