About this task

This payroll and HR services provider (51–200 employees) is looking for a senior Brand Copy Editor for a monthly bundle of recurring tasks, 8–20 h a month. Rewrites catalogue or UI text for consistency.

A named list of recurring items keeps the month predictable for both sides. It works in staffing and HR technology, and the team is used to external specialists.

The team sits in Kansas City. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (CT).

What you deliver

• Standardise 500 product descriptions to a template and tone.
• A month-end summary with hours used against the cap
• A named list of items moved to next month, so nothing is lost
• The monthly list of items completed, each with a link to the result

What a month looks like

• Week 1: intake call and a list of what is due this month
• Weeks 2 and 3: items completed in short sessions
• Week 4: month-end summary and the list for next month

Duration: 12 weeks, with a monthly hours cap. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
