About this task

This Series B telehealth provider for mental health (201–500 employees) is looking for an executive Fractional General Counsel for a paid one-hour session with a senior specialist. One hour of senior legal advice on a defined question.

The company has one decision to take and wants a senior view before it does. It works in healthcare, so patient data is never part of the task and privacy rules are strict.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in West Virginia, so this one is for residents there. The call is booked at a time that suits you, evenings included.

What you deliver

• Give advice on an IP assignment question with a written summary afterwards.
• A short written summary of the advice within 24 hours after the session
• One focused hour, with the questions sent to you the day before
• Pointers to sources you relied on, so the company can check them

How the work runs

• Day 1: kickoff call and access to the files
• Days 2 to 3: the work, with questions answered the same day
• Last day: delivery and a short walkthrough

Duration: One session of about an hour. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
