About this task

This Series B developer-tools company for schools (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Paralegal for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–12 h a week. Prepares contracts, forms and letters for attorney review.

The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. The company sells subscription software, so deadlines follow release and billing cycles.

The team sits in Madrid. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (CET).

What you deliver

  • Prepare 8 documents a week from templates and client data for attorney review.
  • A written update every Monday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
  • Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
  • A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

  • Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
  • Tuesday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
  • Monday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread

Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.

Who fits

  • 5-10 years of hands-on work as a Paralegal, or the equivalent mix of roles
  • Business-level Spanish as well as English: the documents and part of the team work in Spanish
  • Comfortable working in Clio, Word and DocuSign
  • The work is done under the supervision of a licensed lawyer or accountant on the company's side.
  • Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

Nice to have

  • A habit of asking one clarifying question early rather than five late
  • Has worked with a distributed team across time zones

Not included

  • On-call availability outside the agreed window
  • Managing other contractors or employees
  • A signature or opinion in your own name: sign-off stays with the company

How you get paid

  • The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
  • Deftridge pays you in EUR after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
  • You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
  • You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
