HR business partners are hired part time to advise leadership on people decisions: organisation design, a difficult performance case, a restructuring plan, a manager training programme. The work combines a few advisory calls with written recommendations.
Seniority matters more than tools here. Describe the size of organisations you have supported and one or two situations you handled from start to finish. Employment law sign-off stays with the company's counsel; your role is to prepare, advise and document. Keep employee information in the company's systems only.
