About this task
This Series C lending platform for small businesses (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Payable Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Prepares payment batches and sends remittances.
The company wants a senior person on this without carrying the cost of a full-time role. It operates in regulated payments and lending, so a written trail for every decision matters.
The team sits in Rochester. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there.
What you deliver
- Prepare Friday's payment run, check bank details against the vendor file and send remittance advice.
- A written update every Wednesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
What a week looks like
- Monday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Tuesday: main working block (2 hours)
- Wednesday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.
