About this task
This telecom operator in fibre broadband (1,001–5,000 employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Payable Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Prepares payment batches and sends remittances.
Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is a telecom company, with large datasets and long-running programmes.
The team sits in Oakland. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected.
What you deliver
- Prepare Friday's payment run, check bank details against the vendor file and send remittance advice.
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A written update every Tuesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
What a week looks like
- Monday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Friday: main working block (2 hours)
- Tuesday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
