About this task

This regional bank serving small businesses (51–200 employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Payable Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Prepares payment batches and sends remittances.

The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It is a regulated bank; the work is documented and reviewed before anything is signed off.

The team sits in Chambersburg. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).

What you deliver

  • Prepare Friday's payment run, check bank details against the vendor file and send remittance advice.
  • A written update every Wednesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
  • Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
  • A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

  • Monday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
  • Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
  • Wednesday: update sent before the company's end of day

Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
