About this task
This insurtech company covering small businesses (5,000+ employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Payable Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–10 h a week. Enters invoices, matches them to purchase orders and routes them for approval.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It is an insurer, so accuracy and an audit trail come before speed.
The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in West Virginia, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Process the week's 100 vendor invoices with two-way matching and chase approvers for the 8 oldest.
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
What a week looks like
- Friday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Thursday: main working block (4 hours)
- Tuesday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
