About this task

This Series B expense management software company for nonprofits (201–500 employees) is looking for a specialist Business Analyst for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Writes and refines stories so engineers can start.

The company wants a senior person on this without carrying the cost of a full-time role. It operates in regulated payments and lending, so a written trail for every decision matters.

The work is fully remote. Any location in Belgium works, with a few hours of overlap with the team's day. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts.

What you deliver

  • Refine 20 backlog stories each week with acceptance criteria and open questions listed.
  • A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
  • Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
  • A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

What a week looks like

  • Tuesday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
  • Wednesday: main working block (2 hours)
  • Friday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open

Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.

Who fits

  • 2-5 years of hands-on work as a Business Analyst, or the equivalent mix of roles
  • Comfortable working in Jira and Confluence
  • Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

Nice to have

  • Comfortable explaining numbers or decisions to a non-specialist reader
  • A habit of asking one clarifying question early rather than five late

Not included

  • Anything that needs a signature in your own name unless the brief says so
  • Work outside the scope written in the brief; extra items are quoted separately
  • On-call availability outside the agreed window

How you get paid

  • The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
  • Deftridge pays you in EUR after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
  • You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
  • You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
