About this task

This Direct-to-consumer brand for specialty food (5,000+ employees) is looking for a specialist SQL & ETL Support for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Rewrites queries and adds indexes or partitions.

It is a self-contained job: scope, checklist and price are agreed before you start. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in British Columbia, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).

What you deliver

• Speed up the ten slowest warehouse queries and report before and after run times.
• One round of edits after the company's review is included
• The finished deliverable in the agreed file format, with sources and assumptions listed
• A 20-minute walkthrough call, or a recorded screen share if you prefer

How the work runs

• Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
• Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
• Last day: final version and handover note

Duration: 2 to 3 weeks. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in CAD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
