About this task

This freight and logistics company for food producers (51–200 employees) is looking for a manager Fractional Customer Success Manager for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Predicts renewals and works at-risk accounts early.

The company wants a senior person on this without carrying the cost of a full-time role. It moves goods for customers, so the data is operational and updated daily.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in California, so this one is for residents there. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).

What you deliver

• Forecast the next quarter's renewals and contact all accounts at risk 75 days out.
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
• A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

What a week looks like

• Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
• Tuesday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
• Thursday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread

Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
