About this task

This Last-mile delivery company for e-commerce brands (201–500 employees) is looking for a manager Fractional Customer Success Manager for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–10 h a week. Leads new customers through setup to first value.

The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It moves goods for customers, so the data is operational and updated daily.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Illinois, so this one is for residents there. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (CT).

What you deliver

• Onboard five new enterprise accounts a month with a plan, calls and success criteria.
• Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
• A written update every Monday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

• Tuesday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
• Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
• Monday: update sent before the company's end of day

Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
