About this task

This Series B online retailer for home goods (201–500 employees) is looking for a manager Business Development Manager for a monthly bundle of recurring tasks, 12–24 h a month. Whether and where to sell next.

A named list of recurring items keeps the month predictable for both sides. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.

The team sits in Fairbanks. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start.

What you deliver

• Scan three new markets for demand, competitors and channels and recommend where to start.
• A running log of open questions, reviewed at the start of each week
• The monthly list of items completed, each with a link to the result
• A month-end summary with hours used against the cap

What a month looks like

• Week 1: intake call and a list of what is due this month
• Weeks 2 and 3: items completed in short sessions
• Week 4: month-end summary and the list for next month

Duration: 6 months, with a monthly hours cap. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
