About this task

This Series C subscription commerce company for home goods (201–500 employees) is looking for a director Fractional HR Business Partner for a paid one-hour session with a senior specialist. A short coaching call for a manager facing a people issue.

The company has one decision to take and wants a senior view before it does. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.

The company prefers a person who can come to League City for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. The call is booked at a time that suits you, evenings included. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (CT).

What you deliver

• Coach a first-time manager on a performance conversation and agree next steps.
• Pointers to sources you relied on, so the company can check them
• No preparation outside the hour unless you both agree to extend
• A short written summary of the advice within 24 hours after the session

How the work runs

• Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
• Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
• Last day: final version and handover note

Duration: One session of about an hour. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
