About this task
This Last-mile delivery company with cross-border freight (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a director Fractional General Counsel for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Contract templates, approval rules and a legal intake process.
The work is too small to justify a hire and too important to leave to chance. It moves goods for customers, so the data is operational and updated daily.
The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Virginia, so this one is for residents there. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Set up legal intake, a contract playbook and an approval matrix for a 70-person company.
- One round of edits after the company's review is included
- A 20-minute walkthrough call, or a recorded screen share if you prefer
- A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope
How the work runs
- Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
- Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
- Last day: final version and handover note
Duration: 2 to 3 weeks. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
