About this task
This Series A subscription commerce company for outdoor gear (51–200 employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Payable Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–5 h a week. Checks expense reports against policy and flags exceptions.
The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.
The team sits in Seattle. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).
What you deliver
- Audit 150 expense reports for policy breaches and duplicate claims and send a summary to finance.
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
What a week looks like
- Thursday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Monday: main working block (2 hours)
- Friday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.
