About this task

This Agri-business in greenhouse growing (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a director Fractional COO for a monthly bundle of recurring tasks, 12–30 h a month. Steps in on a delayed project and resets scope, owners and plan.

A named list of recurring items keeps the month predictable for both sides. It is an agri-business, so the calendar follows the growing season.

The team sits in Markham. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call.

What you deliver

• Take over a stalled system rollout, reset scope and deliver a recovery plan with weekly checkpoints.
• The monthly list of items completed, each with a link to the result
• A running log of open questions, reviewed at the start of each week
• A month-end summary with hours used against the cap

What a month looks like

• Week 1: intake call and a list of what is due this month
• Weeks 2 and 3: items completed in short sessions
• Week 4: month-end summary and the list for next month

Duration: 12 weeks, with a monthly hours cap. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in CAD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
