About this task

This consumer goods company in snacks (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Brand Copy Editor for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Documents tone, word choices and examples.

The company has a deadline, no one free to own it, and wants a person who has done the same job before. It sells consumer goods through retailers, so planning cycles run to a fixed monthly calendar.

The company prefers a person who can come to Munich for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (CET).

What you deliver

  • Create a brand voice guide with do and don't examples and a word list.
  • The finished deliverable in the agreed file format, with sources and assumptions listed
  • One round of edits after the company's review is included
  • A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope

How the work runs

  • Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
  • Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
  • Last day: final version and handover note

Duration: 2 to 3 weeks. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

Who fits

  • 5-10 years of hands-on work as a Brand Copy Editor, or the equivalent mix of roles
  • Comfortable working in Google Docs and Notion
  • Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

Nice to have

  • Comfortable explaining numbers or decisions to a non-specialist reader
  • A habit of asking one clarifying question early rather than five late

Not included

  • Travel or work at a fixed location
  • Anything that needs a signature in your own name unless the brief says so
  • Work outside the scope written in the brief; extra items are quoted separately

How you get paid

  • The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
  • Deftridge pays you in EUR after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
  • You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
  • You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
