About this task

This Series C analytics software company for HR teams (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a specialist Bookkeeper for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Codes bank and card transactions and queries unclear items.

The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. The company sells subscription software, so deadlines follow release and billing cycles.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Georgia, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected.

What you deliver

• Code the week's transactions for a 12-person agency and send a short list of questions to the owner.
• Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
• A written update every Tuesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

• Wednesday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
• Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
• Tuesday: update sent before the company's end of day

Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
