About this task
This retail chain with stores in six countries (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a manager UX Researcher for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–7 h a week. A researcher on call for a product team.
The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It is a retailer with stores and an online channel, and the team works to a weekly trading rhythm.
The team sits in Calgary. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (MT).
What you deliver
- Support the team's research requests: plan studies, review guides and share findings every week.
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
What a week looks like
- Tuesday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
- Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
- Thursday: update sent before the company's end of day
Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
