About this task

This Food-supply cooperative in fruit and vegetables (11–50 employees) is looking for a director Product Manager for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–9 h a week. Owns the backlog and answers the team's product questions every week.

Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is an agri-business, so the calendar follows the growing season.

The work is fully remote. Any location in Netherlands works, with a few hours of overlap with the team's day. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts.

What you deliver

  • Groom the backlog, write acceptance criteria for the next sprint and answer open product questions within a working day.
  • A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
  • A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
  • Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call

What a week looks like

  • Wednesday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
  • Tuesday: main working block (3 hours)
  • Friday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open

Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

Who fits

  • 10-15 years of hands-on work as a Product Manager, or the equivalent mix of roles
  • Comfortable working in Jira, Slack and Confluence
  • Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

Nice to have

  • A habit of asking one clarifying question early rather than five late
  • Comfortable explaining numbers or decisions to a non-specialist reader

Not included

  • Work outside the scope written in the brief; extra items are quoted separately
  • Travel or work at a fixed location
  • Managing other contractors or employees

How you get paid

  • The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
  • Deftridge pays you in EUR after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
  • You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
  • You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
