About this task
This Real-estate services firm in residential development (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a director Data Scientist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–8 h a week. A standing hour for the analytics team's modelling questions.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It works in real estate and construction, where project documents change often.
The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in South Carolina, so this one is for residents there. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Review the team's models and notebooks, answer questions and unblock two analysts a week.
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
What a week looks like
- Thursday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
- Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
- Wednesday: update sent before the company's end of day
Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
