About this task

This Machine-learning platform for legal research (1,001–5,000 employees) is looking for a specialist Compliance Analyst for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Checks suppliers for sanctions, privacy and security.

A fresh pair of experienced eyes is needed, and the result is a document or file the team can use straight away. It builds AI products and needs human experts to check what the models produce.

The work is fully remote. Any location in United States works, with a few hours of overlap with the team's day. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected.

What you deliver

  • Run due diligence on 25 vendors using a questionnaire and public sources.
  • One round of edits after the company's review is included
  • A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope
  • A 20-minute walkthrough call, or a recorded screen share if you prefer

How the work runs

  • Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
  • Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
  • Last day: final version and handover note

Duration: 1 to 2 weeks. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

Who fits

  • 2-5 years of hands-on work as a Compliance Analyst, or the equivalent mix of roles
  • Comfortable working in Excel and OneTrust
  • Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

Nice to have

  • A habit of asking one clarifying question early rather than five late
  • Comfortable explaining numbers or decisions to a non-specialist reader

Not included

  • Work outside the scope written in the brief; extra items are quoted separately
  • Travel or work at a fixed location
  • On-call availability outside the agreed window

How you get paid

  • The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
  • Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
  • You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
  • You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
