User Story Backlog Grooming

About this task

This digital media company in lifestyle (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Business Analyst for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Writes and refines stories so engineers can start.

The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It publishes content on a schedule, so editorial deadlines are fixed.

The work is fully remote and open to anyone living in an EU country; the team itself works from Sweden. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (CET).

What you deliver

• Refine 25 backlog stories each week with acceptance criteria and open questions listed.
• Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

• Thursday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
• Tuesday: main working block (2 hours)
• Monday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open

Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in EUR after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
