User Story Backlog Grooming

About this task

This agritech company in dairy (11–50 employees) is looking for a specialist Business Analyst for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–6 h a week. Writes and refines stories so engineers can start.

The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It is an agri-business, so the calendar follows the growing season.

The work is fully remote and open to anyone living in an EU country; the team itself works from Spain. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (CET).

What you deliver

• Refine 25 backlog stories each week with acceptance criteria and open questions listed.
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
• A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
• Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call

What a week looks like

• Monday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
• Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
• Thursday: update sent before the company's end of day

Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in EUR after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
