About this task

This Real-estate services firm (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Internal Audit & SOX Support for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Refreshes risks, controls and owners after process changes.

The company has a deadline, no one free to own it, and wants a person who has done the same job before. It works in real estate and construction, where project documents change often.

The company prefers a person who can come to Oxford for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected.

What you deliver

• Update the risk and control matrix for a new billing system and retire controls that no longer apply.
• One round of edits after the company's review is included
• The finished deliverable in the agreed file format, with sources and assumptions listed
• A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope

How the work runs

• Day 1: kickoff call and access to the files
• Days 2 to 6: the work, with questions answered the same day
• Last day: delivery and a short walkthrough

Duration: 1 to 2 weeks. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in GBP after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
