About this task

This warehousing operator (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a senior Project Manager for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Keeps risks and issues current with owners and dates.

The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It moves goods for customers, so the data is operational and updated daily.

The company prefers a person who can come to Woking for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (UK time).

What you deliver

  • Maintain the risk log, chase owners and escalate overdue items.
  • Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
  • A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
  • Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call

What a week looks like

  • Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
  • Tuesday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
  • Friday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread

Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

Who fits

  • 5-10 years of hands-on work as a Project Manager, or the equivalent mix of roles
  • Comfortable working in Excel and Jira
  • Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

Nice to have

  • Has worked with a distributed team across time zones
  • Experience in a similar industry

Not included

  • Work outside the scope written in the brief; extra items are quoted separately
  • Travel or work at a fixed location
  • Anything that needs a signature in your own name unless the brief says so

How you get paid

  • The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
  • Deftridge pays you in GBP after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
  • You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
  • You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
