About this task

This business banking company for mid-market companies (5,000+ employees) is looking for a manager Internal Audit & SOX Support for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Tracks open findings and verifies the fixes.

The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It operates in regulated payments and lending, so a written trail for every decision matters.

The team sits in Buffalo. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).

What you deliver

• Follow up 15 open audit findings with owners, record evidence and close those that pass re-test.
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
• A written update every Monday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

What a week looks like

• Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
• Wednesday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
• Monday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread

Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
