About this task
This Series B vertical software provider for hospitals and clinics (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Payroll Specialist for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Samples payroll across a year and tests rates, deductions and overtime.
The work is too small to justify a hire and too important to leave to chance. The company sells subscription software, so deadlines follow release and billing cycles.
The work is fully remote. Any location in Canada works, with a few hours of overlap with the team's day. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Audit 8 months of payroll for 25 employees and report rate errors, missed deductions and overtime issues.
- One round of edits after the company's review is included
- A 20-minute walkthrough call, or a recorded screen share if you prefer
- A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope
How the work runs
- Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
- Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
- Last day: final version and handover note
Duration: 2 to 3 weeks. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
