About this task

This international nonprofit in refugee support (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a senior Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–10 h a week. Contacts customers with late balances and agrees payment dates.

Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is a nonprofit, so budgets are tight and grant reporting dates are fixed.

The team sits in Los Angeles. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).

What you deliver

  • Contact the 20 customers over 25 days late, record promises to pay and escalate the five largest balances.
  • Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
  • A written update every Wednesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
  • A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

  • Tuesday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
  • Thursday: main working block (4 hours)
  • Wednesday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open

Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.
