About this task
This property and casualty insurer covering small businesses (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a senior Payroll Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Sets up new hires and finals correctly, including state forms.
The company wants a senior person on this without carrying the cost of a full-time role. It is an insurer, so accuracy and an audit trail come before speed.
The company prefers a person who can come to Reno for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (PT).
What you deliver
- Set up eight new hires in four states and prepare final pay for three leavers.
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
What a week looks like
- Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
- Tuesday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
- Friday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread
Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
