About this task
This regional bank serving professional firms (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Payroll Specialist for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–4 h a week. Sets up new hires and finals correctly, including state forms.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It is a regulated bank; the work is documented and reviewed before anything is signed off.
The company prefers a person who can come to New York City for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Set up eight new hires in four states and prepare final pay for three leavers.
- A written update every Wednesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
What a week looks like
- Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
- Monday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
- Wednesday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.
