About this task

This government IT contractor serving tax authorities (1,001–5,000 employees) is looking for a manager FP&A Analyst for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Actual against budget with explanations from the budget owners.

The company wants a senior person on this without carrying the cost of a full-time role. It supplies the public sector, so documentation follows contract rules.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Minnesota, so this one is for residents there. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (CT).

What you deliver

• Produce the October variance report for eight departments with a one-paragraph explanation on every variance above 10%.
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
• A written update every Wednesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
• Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call

What a week looks like

• Friday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
• Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
• Wednesday: update sent before the company's end of day

Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
