About this task
This Series B online marketplace for home goods (51–200 employees) is looking for a manager Fractional Controller for an ongoing part-time engagement of 2–6 h a week. Owns the close calendar, reviews every reconciliation and publishes the monthly package.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.
The team sits in Champaign. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (CT).
What you deliver
- Run the October close for a 60-person SaaS company: checklist, reviews, and the finance package by working day 8.
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
What a week looks like
- Wednesday: pick up the queue and confirm priorities
- Midweek: two short working sessions of one to two hours
- Thursday: update sent before the company's end of day
Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.
