About this task

This legal services provider advising employers (1,001–5,000 employees) is looking for a director Legal Operations for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Shows what outside counsel costs and where.

The company has a deadline, no one free to own it, and wants a person who has done the same job before. It is a law firm; confidentiality is absolute and every file is handled under supervision.

The work is fully remote and open to anyone living in an EU country; the team itself works from Romania. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (CET).

What you deliver

• Analyse 15 months of legal invoices and recommend rate and scope changes.
• The finished deliverable in the agreed file format, with sources and assumptions listed
• A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope
• One round of edits after the company's review is included

How the work runs

• Day 1: kickoff call and access to the files
• Days 2 to 6: the work, with questions answered the same day
• Last day: delivery and a short walkthrough

Duration: 1 to 2 weeks. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in EUR after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
