About this task
This management consulting firm for the public sector (1,001–5,000 employees) is looking for a manager Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Reconciles balances between entities and clears differences.
The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It is a consulting firm, so client deadlines set the pace and handover notes are expected.
The company prefers a person who can come to Arlington for kickoff and the final review; the rest is remote. The company prefers early-morning hours, before a normal working day starts. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Reconcile intercompany balances between the US, UK and German entities and propose eliminating entries.
- A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
What a week looks like
- Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
- Thursday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
- Friday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.
