About this task
This Home-goods retailer with 40 stores (501–1,000 employees) is looking for a manager Tax Preparation Support for a monthly bundle of recurring tasks, 8–12 h a month. Collects source documents and prepares workpapers for review.
A named list of recurring items keeps the month predictable for both sides. It is a retailer with stores and an online channel, and the team works to a weekly trading rhythm.
The team sits in Warrington. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (UK time).
What you deliver
- Prepare workpapers for 15 individual returns from client documents, with open questions listed for the preparer.
- A running log of open questions, reviewed at the start of each week
- The monthly list of items completed, each with a link to the result
- A month-end summary with hours used against the cap
What a month looks like
- Start of month: the company shares the items and the priorities
- Mid-month: progress check of 15 minutes
- Month end: hours used against the cap, results and open items
Duration: 12 weeks, with a monthly hours cap. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
