About this task

This environmental nonprofit in climate (201–500 employees) is looking for a specialist Tax Preparation Support for a monthly bundle of recurring tasks, 8–12 h a month. Collects source documents and prepares workpapers for review.

The company wants one reliable owner for a list of small jobs instead of five different people. It is a nonprofit, so budgets are tight and grant reporting dates are fixed.

The team sits in Seattle. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start.

What you deliver

  • Prepare workpapers for 15 individual returns from client documents, with open questions listed for the preparer.
  • A month-end summary with hours used against the cap
  • A running log of open questions, reviewed at the start of each week
  • The monthly list of items completed, each with a link to the result

What a month looks like

  • Week 1: intake call and a list of what is due this month
  • Weeks 2 and 3: items completed in short sessions
  • Week 4: month-end summary and the list for next month

Duration: 6 months, with a monthly hours cap. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
