About this task
This biotech company in neuroscience (201–500 employees) is looking for a manager Month-End Close Accountant for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–8 h a week. Runs part of the monthly close for a European subsidiary reporting under IFRS.
Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It works in life sciences, where documents are versioned and reviewed in a fixed order.
The team sits in Dundee. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (UK time).
What you deliver
- Prepare accruals, prepaid schedules and the IFRS 15 lease entries for the monthly close.
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
- A written update every Tuesday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
What a week looks like
- Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
- Monday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
- Tuesday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread
Duration: 12 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
