About this task

This health charity (5,000+ employees) is looking for a manager HR Generalist for a paid one-hour session with a senior specialist. A senior HR leader's view on one case.

The company has one decision to take and wants a senior view before it does. It is a nonprofit, so budgets are tight and grant reporting dates are fixed.

The work is fully remote. Any location in United Kingdom works, with a few hours of overlap with the team's day. The call is booked at a time that suits you, evenings included. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (UK time).

What you deliver

  • Talk through a difficult HR case and answer three questions on process and risk.
  • A short written summary of the advice within 24 hours after the session
  • No preparation outside the hour unless you both agree to extend
  • Pointers to sources you relied on, so the company can check them

How the work runs

  • Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
  • Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
  • Last day: final version and handover note

Duration: One session of about an hour. Accepted when the output matches the agreed checklist and the sample check passes; the recruiter confirms by e-mail.

Who fits

  • 7-12 years of hands-on work as an HR Generalist, or the equivalent mix of roles
  • Comfortable working in Zoom
  • Your own work history stays private; the company sees a first name, your field and a rate

Nice to have

  • A habit of asking one clarifying question early rather than five late
  • Comfortable explaining numbers or decisions to a non-specialist reader

Not included

  • Work outside the scope written in the brief; extra items are quoted separately
  • Travel or work at a fixed location
  • Anything that needs a signature in your own name unless the brief says so

How you get paid

  • The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
  • Deftridge pays you in GBP after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
  • You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
  • You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
