About this task

This environmental nonprofit in climate (5,000+ employees) is looking for a director Fractional CFO for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Finance folder an investor expects: historicals, projections, cap table summary and key policies.

The company has a deadline, no one free to own it, and wants a person who has done the same job before. It is a nonprofit, so budgets are tight and grant reporting dates are fixed.

The team sits in Coventry. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. You choose your hours; nothing is scheduled except an occasional short call. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (UK time).

What you deliver

• Assemble the finance section of the Series A data room, flag gaps, and write the 2-page financial summary.
• A final note stating what was checked and what was left out of scope
• A 20-minute walkthrough call, or a recorded screen share if you prefer
• One round of edits after the company's review is included

How the work runs

• Day 1: kickoff call and access to the files
• Days 2 to 10: the work, with questions answered the same day
• Last day: delivery and a short walkthrough

Duration: 2 to 3 weeks. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in GBP after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
