About this task

This international nonprofit in climate (5,000+ employees) is looking for a director Fractional HR Business Partner for an ongoing part-time engagement of 3–8 h a week. Guides managers through conduct and performance cases.

Workload peaks and dips, so a few fixed hours a week fit better than a full-time seat. It is a nonprofit, so budgets are tight and grant reporting dates are fixed.

The team sits in Concord. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Evenings or weekends are fine, as long as the agreed weekly output is there. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).

What you deliver

• Support managers on three active cases and document each step and decision.
• A written update every Monday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
• Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

• Thursday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
• Tuesday: main working block (3 hours)
• Monday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open

Duration: 8 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
