About this task

This Seed E-commerce platform for beauty (11–50 employees) is looking for a senior Paralegal for an ongoing part-time engagement of 4–12 h a week. Prepares contracts, forms and letters for attorney review.

The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It sells online, so volumes move with promotions and the calendar matters.

The team sits in Worthing. Everything can be done remotely; an occasional visit is welcome and never required for the first month. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 3 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (UK time).

What you deliver

• Prepare 15 documents a week from templates and client data for attorney review.
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A written update every Thursday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked

What a week looks like

• Friday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
• Monday: main working block (4 hours)
• Thursday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open

Duration: 6 months, then month by month. Accepted when the company contact confirms the deliverable against the written checklist. One round of edits is included.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in GBP after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
