About this task
This biotech company in neuroscience (1,001–5,000 employees) is looking for a manager Privacy & GDPR Counsel for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–2 h a week. Handles access and deletion requests within the legal deadline.
The person who did this left, and the company would rather bring in an experienced part-timer than rush a permanent hire. It works in life sciences, where documents are versioned and reviewed in a fixed order.
The work is fully remote. Any location in Canada works, with a few hours of overlap with the team's day. The work runs in two set slots a week, agreed with the team at the start. About 2 hours a week should overlap with the team's day (ET).
What you deliver
- Handle the month's data subject requests and prepare the response letters and records.
- A written update every Friday with what was done, what is next and anything blocked
- Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
- A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends
What a week looks like
- Thursday: 15-minute check-in to agree the week's items
- Monday: main working block (1 hours)
- Friday: hand-off note with what shipped and what is open
Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.
