About this task

This Series B online learning platform for universities (201–500 employees) is looking for a senior Internal Audit & SOX Support for an ongoing part-time engagement of 1–3 h a week. Performs tests of operating effectiveness and records evidence.

The team is stretched and wants steady, predictable help instead of another full-time hire. It works in education, with a calendar built around terms and enrolment peaks.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Arkansas, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected. About 1 hour a week should overlap with the team's day (CT).

What you deliver

• Test 25 key controls for Q3 with samples, evidence references and exceptions logged in AuditBoard.
• Work logged against the agreed list, so the company contact can see progress without a call
• Questions collected in one thread, answered within one working day
• A short handover note when the engagement pauses or ends

What a week looks like

• Daily: one hour at a time that suits you, inside the agreed window
• Monday: ten-minute sync if anything is blocked
• Thursday: weekly summary posted to the shared thread

Duration: 16 weeks, renewable. Accepted after the walkthrough. Edits requested within three working days are part of the price.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.
• Deftridge pays you in USD after the company confirms the hours or the deliverable. The payment date is written in your task agreement.
• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
• You never chase the company. Questions about money go to Deftridge.
