About this task

This health charity in education access (51–200 employees) is looking for a manager Procurement & Vendor Manager for a single piece of work with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Market view and plan for a spend category.

A fresh pair of experienced eyes is needed, and the result is a document or file the team can use straight away. It is a nonprofit, so budgets are tight and grant reporting dates are fixed.

The work is fully remote, but the company can only contract people who live in Illinois, so this one is for residents there. Most people do this on weekday evenings; replies inside the working day are not expected.

What you deliver

• Write a category strategy for marketing agencies with a sourcing plan.
• A 20-minute walkthrough call, or a recorded screen share if you prefer
• One round of edits after the company's review is included
• The finished deliverable in the agreed file format, with sources and assumptions listed

How the work runs

• Day 1: scope confirmed in writing, files shared
• Middle of the period: draft shared for early feedback
• Last day: final version and handover note

Duration: about 10 working days. Accepted on the company's written OK. If something is missed, you fix it in the same week at no extra charge to either side.

How you get paid

• The company prepays Deftridge before your first hour, so payment does not depend on a late invoice.

• You work as an independent contractor: you report your own income, and your recruiter sends the statements your accountant needs.
